If they did this, won't it ruin the films in a sense? I mean, the Ewok Adventure was not exactly in the same vein as the films and took away from them. Of course some movies to TV shows have done well, such as What's Happening(Coolie High), Fame and MASH, but most TV series from films have not only been scaled down, but they have often sucked with very short lives.

One series that comes to mind that failed to capture the whole feel and 'rawness' of it's original films was the little known Shaft TV show. That sucked. It was scaled down from the R ratings of the films. The only good part was that they had a show that took place in Connecticut. There was also, Private Benjamin, Stripes, that film with Alicia Silverstone and a whole lot of others that never made it because people want the feel of the film. It is harder to capture that feel on a lower budget.

Stargate made the crossover pretty well but I think that was the
exception to the rule.

Personally, I'd love to see SW as a TV show, it would be hilarious to
be able to laugh at George Lucas 22 times a season.

Well, I guess...being a HUGH fan growing up with the originals.
I was 7 when ANH came out.
Then I spent half my life waiting for the prequels and almost wanted
to walk out of the theater during ep. 1
I have seen the originals countless...100's each...but to this day
have only seen 1 and 2 one time each.
If George would spend less time thinking about special effects and
making characters that he thinks will sell more toys and instead
thinking about how to write a good story then I would be first in
line.

Just like the original trilogy DVD's only being released as the
Special Editions...he ruined his own movies.
Special effects and green screens and CGI do not make a movie better,
George.

Just like video games....look at all the power of them
today....trillions of polygons and millions of colors.
But they can't compete with the cheesey graphics and 16 colors of the
arcade and Commodore 64 games of the 80's.
Why...because those games were original and creative...you dont need
all those special effects if you have good idea or story.

Don't get me wrong...I love special effects as much as the next guy
but without a good story and good acting they are meaningless and a
waste of time. Eps. 1 and 2 have a horrible story and the acting is
no better...and don't forget the annoying characters...you know who I
mean...let's put this bunbling oaf in charge of the Senate while we
are away...my God was that stupid.

Will I see Ep. 3...hell yes...in the theater where I have to pay for
it...I don't know...if so I know I wont be there for the first showing
like ep.1 I will wait to hear how it is....and definately download it
from a.b.svcd either way.

later,
Another disappointed SW fan.
